Project Homeward Bound Microchip Clinic 

As a result of the impact of microchips and the need to help more residents obtain them for their pets, Winnebago County Animal Services (WCAS) is happy to announce “Project Homeward Bound Microchip Clinic!”  This low-cost once/week microchip clinic is open to Winnebago County, Illinois, residents and will be based on a first-come, first-serve basis to the first 20 dogs, cats, puppies, or kittens each Friday.  The on-going clinic will take place at Winnebago County Animal Services, 4517 N. Main St. Rockford, IL every Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each implanted microchip will cost only $5.

Please note:

  • Bring current photo identification with Winnebago County address.

  • Bring proof of rabies shot and tag. (4 months of age or older)

  • Limit of two dogs or cats per household, per clinic.

  • Kittens and puppies must be at least 8 weeks of age.

  • Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in individual carriers.

  • Holidays are excluded.
